Cassius Rex
Cassius (from older Latin and meaning hollow or empty) and Rex (again from the Latin meaning a male sovereign or ruler).
Named the Hollow King by Sednu as a cruel joke.

Notable traits
Cassius will talk to anyone and everyone, sometimes he pus them at ease, other times he riles them up, but whether he makes friends or enemies doesn't seem to matter to him as long as he makes an impression. Cassius also seems to dismiss kindred 'age' as irrelevant. Sometimes he seems easily confused and physically weak, perhaps misdirection, perhaps signs of a failing mind.
This kindred is fascinated with the idea of the Transmutation of the flesh, yet despite being an elder Gangrel has never been seen to take the form of Bat or Wolf.

Concept
It's all about taking the risks, trying to stimulate those lost emotions and feelings. Living on the edge physically and socially in order to achieve some facsimile of lost 'life'. The demeanor is a mask for the ruthless personality beneath, a mask that can remain in place for decades as this predator is infinitely patient.
Description: Tall and gangly with dark hair, blue eyes, and a lopsided grin. Cassius can at best be described as untidy, he lopes rather than walks, sprawls rather than sits, lacks decorum and fashion awareness. His clothes are often mismatched or worn, but always comfortable, and he is more likely to follow the whim of a pretty neonate then the command of a powerful Elder.
Origins: At various times Cassius has claimed to be a Mongol, a Tartar, an Irish Celt, and an Egyptian Princes who underwent a mystical sex change after eating an enchanted plum. Common sense would rule out the last claim, his apperance would likewise eliminate the first.

History
Early Days: Across a thousand cultures come the legends of evil spirits that lurk battlefields and places of conflict. The moans of those in no-mans land cut off abruptly, the outposts left emptied before the enemy got to them, dark shapes stalking just beyond the edge of the sentries fires. These aren’t just fanciful stories told by scared soldiers, there are things that hunt the battlefield, finding easy food amongst the dying, bringing peace to those in pain and despair to those foolish enough to have played dead.
Once armies made small sacrifices to ward of these predators of the night, a prisoner left tied up in the darkness, an offering of valuable stones or sacred fetishes. In time however a darker practice began to form, a payment of blood and trinkets was left not to ward off attacks, but to redirect them towards the foe. Pacts made under cover of night would send supernatural doom towards a foe, unstoppable assassins called upon to do the unthinkable.
Cassius claims to have once been one of these, first an honoured ancestor called upon to protect the family line, later a predator stalking the field of battle for easy prey, and finally an unholy weapon directed by shaman and wizards to strike down their enemies. He revelled in conflict, happy to be directed by anyone with the proper knowledge, or dumb luck, to fashion an offering for his services, taking time between wars to learn all that could be found on those that came before him.
Early Years
Cassius often talks about these events in his usual rambling style.
1007 Embrace: In an age where the pace of change is rapidly accelerating the ancient Sednu embraces a young Tartar warrior with a thirst for knowledge as a aid to assist in understanding these modern times.
Embrace till 1189 Working alongside Sednu as a loyal childe and acolyte.
1230-1340's A member of the Golden Horde during the Mongol migration/invasion of Rus and Eastern Europe under Möngke Khan. Cassius spent most of his time with the Golden Horde in these lands until the Black Death arrived in the 1340's
134? Worried by reduced feeding grounds Cassius decides it is time to leave all mortal ties behind and focus on kindred matters.
1821 In search of the Rakshasa of legend, Cassius travells to the colonies of India, however after a short period heads back to Europe.
Pre-Game History
1841-1845 Drawn to the Siamese-Vietnamese conflict.
1846-1859 Dwells in India as it rests under the control of the East India Company. Here he studies the Vedas, the Brahmanas, and the Upanishads as the most ancient holy texts still in existance. This is under the guidance of both kindred and mortal holy men, as he seeks for the Rakshasa and the origins of kindred existance. As Company rule falters and the British Governement assumes control Cassius finds crack down on the thugee disturbes his study, excited by the conflict he abandons his research and moves on in search of battle once more.
1861-1867 Drawn to the Nien rebellion in China.
1869-1877 Drawn to the Ten Years War in Cuba
1897-1899 In Chad for the French conquest.
1900 Called by blood to a region of conflict, Cassius involves himself in the internal Pure politics. Within weeks of rejoining the scattered members of Sednu's bloodline, he is almost destroyed by an unknown assailant. Without warning Cassius vanishes from kindred society, not appearing again under that name until MAY 1995

1984 Joins the Wolfpack under the name Zatara (driftwood) as it passes through Beijing
1987 Leaves Wolfpack in Kazan (Russia), as the familiar territory awakens old memories and heads into Europe
1995 rejoins Wolfpack as Cassius in Ireland when he runs into them during the Lansdowne Road Riots
1997 Attracted by the carnival 'end of days' atmosphere of the looming return of the city to Chinese rule the Wolf Pack spends several months in Hong Kong
2006 Heads to Africa in search of the stories of Alexander, slips into deep healing Torpor close to Port Elizabeth
Current Events
2008 (November) Port Elizabeth: Awakens from recent torpor feeling weak, but more like his old self.
2009 (February) The urge to travel strikes and hiding his infirmities Cassius signs up with an old acquaintance, exchanging his labor for passage on a 'mercenary vessel'
2009 (May) The ship he is on picks the wrong vessel to attack, and all hands are destroyed. He is forced to find alternate means of transport, and contracts with the the Captain of said vessel for passage.
