History (IC)

Darwin Finch has been active since at least the mid-1800's, possibly earlier (some surmise possibly even as far back as the Birth of Christ), primarily in England (London) and Australia (Melbourne); though also with time in India (Mumbai).

To those who know him well, or have used his services repeatedly over time, he appears to re-invent himself every so often, though those who claim to know him that well become fewer and further between as the ages pass, be it through loss of memories to the Fog, long Torpor or simply Final Death. The only element that appears to remain constant is a need for movement and speed, be it cars, sailing ships, horse-riding. It is the one constant through out all of his 'phases'. Another element of these 'phases', though not as consistent, is that he appears to either distance himself from those he knew before his 'change' at times failing to recognise those who have been known to be his closest companions or suddenly becoming a great ally of one known to be have been a blood-sworn adversary.

Darwin, or Finch as he prefers to be known, is a transporter of goods. He carries them from point A to point B, no questions asked and that his fees, though considered steep, are worth it. There are rumours of him being either being (or having been) in his time Invictus, Crone, Dragon, even Unaligned.

In recent history, he has returned to Melbourne after a stay in London. Whilst there he was re-acquainted with the his progenitor of his House, The Pict himself, Tearlach, as well as his reported GrandSire, Nicodemus.

Since returning to Melbourne, Finch has taken a strong 'family' stance, focusing very much on the House and Line of Tearlach, which now dominate the numbers of the Mekhet within both Melbourne and Adelaide and are influential across the country.

OOC Information

Darwin Finch suffers from a memory problem, as do many of the Line of Tearlach (the result of a curse placed upon the line in bygone ages). Upon entering The Long Sleep, by choice or by violence, he loses his memories to the Fog; he becomes Tabula Rasla, a blank slate. As a result he has no knowledge of who sired him, nor of those whom he has sired - unless they have presented themselves to him whilst he wakes.

There has been no specific age ever set upon the character, however in response to supporting other players, an application has been approved to exceed the age restrictions on an Australian based Kindred (pre-1800 embrace) for which the approval number is VTR0908002.

With these in mind, I am more than happy to have Finch be a Sire to any Mekhet within the Camarilla Chronicle, especially those seeking to later join the Khaibit Bloodline (approval number VTR0407003). I request that if you do want Finch as a Sire, you update the OOC History section with where/when you were embraced by him and a rough idea as to when you realised he didn't remember you the 1st time. The other things I would ask is that you not deliberately conflict with what another Player has already established, nor that you play a childe more recent in embrace then Karly unless you contact myself first.

His recent history is that he was placed in torpor by a Kindred with whom Finch had sworn a vendetta. The Kindred appeared to respect what he had seen of Finch in the years prior and uncovered the secret of 'resetting' Finch. This Kindred saw a way to remove the vendetta without killing a being he appeared to respect. Unlike previous exits from Torpor, Finch was handed back to those who knew him prior (mainly Karly, supported by others of Finch's childe) and as a result, the 'new' Finch is not too dissimilar to the old one and he is playing it for all it is worth to try and figure out all these people who claim they know him...
