Heartbeat

These Daeva are about passion; for their ambition, for their vendettas, for their faith...for each other. Rumours abound of unwholesome connections between close relations within House Fervidus that turn family enclaves into debauches that would make a Roman Emperor squeamish. Gossip and lies, of course. Or is it? The vampires of House Fervidus do often seem to share unsettlingly intense relationships; fixation and possessiveness infuse many of these filial connections, and tempers are prone to flare when an outsider comes onto the scene.

Whatever the truth, the Daeva of this House are universally hungry in some way. The Sanctified members eclipse their brethren with the ardency of their belief, the Carthians are firebrand Jacobins who strain and strive for revolution with every fibre of their beings, the Acolytes are lusty blood-Gods, rapacious in their thirst for power and worship, and the Invictus are ambition incarnate. The House strives to impress upon its members its doctrine of conquest and power. The fierce acquisitiveness of House members often renders them with little loyalty to anything save their chosen path, and the House itself.

Thus it is that the Daeva of House Fervidus have a reputation for excellence in their chosen fields, and an insatiable appetite for distinction. Though this is by far more accurate of the older members than the younger, many a Prince, insecure in his power, has been seen to squirm upon hearing any member of the House will be visiting his domain. A wise and strong Prince, however, recognises such a guest for a formidable ally, if an expensive one to satisfy, and is likely to make arrangements accordingly.

Conception

Members of House Fervidus tend to have strong personalities, and are all defined by a passion for something; House Members tend toward acquisitive Vices, such as Gluttony, Greed and Envy, though Wrath is certainly not unheard of among these most hot-blooded of vampires. Beyond that there is not much that is common to them before Embrace. House members come from all walks of life, with varying skills and philosophies. Even the stereotype of Daeva beauty does not necessarily hold true for the House - while many are quite attractive, Family de la Lanza in particular does not use attractiveness as a criterion for Embrace.

These Daeva maintain extremely intimate ties, although not all are of love - connections of hatred unite just as strongly as affection, and are protected with equal jealousy in the face of external interference. House members may adore or despise each other, but there is an undeniably strong undercurrent of possession and belonging. Members are encouraged to take the Close Family merit from the Daeva book.

There is room for most Bloodlines within the Domus Fervidus framework; so far, Erszébet, Mortifiers of the Flesh and Children of Judas are most strongly represented.

Adoption of other Daeva into the House is extremely rare, but not unknown. Any potential adoptees must fit the House themes and requirements.

House Altair - Gangrel

Due to the entrustment of the youngest Fervid, one Ivy Darling, in Invictus vassalage to the Altairians' fearsome matriarch, bridges are now being built to close the gap between Houses Fervidus and Altair. Relations are still very young, but highly positive. There is much that the ravenous Daeva have in common with their equally passionate Gangrel contemporaries, and much that the two Houses can offer each other.

House Coriolanus - Ventrue

Ties between House Coriolanus and Domus Fervidus as a whole have been ties of convenience, although closer relationships of mentoring, respect and protection exist between individual members of the two Houses. However, with Ivy's recent, drug-fueled diatribe at the House's ancient founder, it remains to be seen how well these relations will bear up.

House Emmett - Gangrel

While there is no overarching relationship between Domus Fervidus and House Emmett, Family de la Lanza maintains cordial relations with the Gangrel house due to Gabriela's friendship with some of House Emmett's key members .

House Golgotha - Nosferatu

Religion makes strange bedfellows - despite Nikolai's known hatred of Nosferatu, the relationship between House Golgotha and the de la Lanza line of Domus Fervidus ignores this. While said relationship can hardly be called warm, that's more because the two families of fanatical Hardliners see no need for it in their dealings with each other. Instead, Gabriela and her brood have a relationship with Bader based on shared faith and respect.

House Khalia - Daeva

Domus Fervidus and House Khalia have a long-running rivalry, dating back to before either House was founded, and stemming from the two founders, broodmates Nikolai and Khalia. Bickering, slander, poaching, politicking - all manner of inconveniences have been visited upon each Houses by the other. While some individual members of the Houses have excellent and close relationships with each other - most notably those of Victoria Isabella Montgomery Halliday with Gabriela and Malachai - when the House founders beckon, the Houses close ranks against each other.

House Odovacar - Nosferatu

Young Ivy's relationship with certain representatives of House Odovacar has laid the groundwork for closer interactions between the two Houses. Certainly, her closeness in Invictus service to one of its most powerful members, Prince Elias Stanthorpe, would seem to speak quite definitively on the matter.

House of the Pure - Gangrel

Likewise, the strangely intimate friendship between Ivy Darling and the enigmatic, nautical Gangrel known as Spindrift, as well as the mysterious accord between her and the ancient Gull, has paved the way for House Fervidus to foster positive relations with the famously proud and independent Pure. Whether the elders of either take advantage of these intitial, tentative overtures remains to be seen. However, now that Spindrift is gone - fallen to the claws of the Altair - and clear lines of open war have been drawn in the sand between the Pure, and the Altairians, to whom the stricken and grieving Ivy owes her loyalty by contract, what will become of the nascent alliance?

The House of Towers - Mekhet

As with House Emmett, the relationship between the House of Towers and the de la Lanza line of the House dates back to around the Second World War. Members of the two families have mentored and worked with each other since the early days of their relationship, and friendships remain to this night.
