Information Known by Kindred Society

It first limped into the court of Sydney in February of 2008, in the tow of the Ordo Dracul, flinching and afraid of everything and everyone around it, and with no recollection of its life before it was Embraced. It claimed to have been sent by 'the man who murdered it', to ask about the death of his Sire. It turned out that the sire in question was Mikhail Skadison, the recently mourned Sheriff of Sydney. After begging the Prince Aaron Wilmott not to make it go back to him, and recieving his word that it didn't have to, It settled into court life. It attached itself to Lucinde De Bèthune and Ultionis of the Ordo Dracul, and seemed- seems- to be quite happy to stay there.

In April, It went with Lucinde and Ultionis to Melbourne, where it met several members of it's family, including Augustine Strife, Lord Davi Stolvinov, and its most renowned sibling, Lady Frankie. What passed between them is not talked about in polite company, even amongst those who know, but the claw marks that cut through the already substantial damage to It's face when it carried Lady Frankie's ashes into the gathering spoke loudly enough to the matter. Melbourne also saw the first of It's fainting fits, as memories started coming back of its previous life.

Since then, It has begun to bloom socially, becoming less the flinching victim, and more outgoing. At the September gathering, for example, It could be seen running around with a Nerf-gun in hand, and declaring its 'hatred' for Ultionis, a fact which the older Dracul took with the seriousness it deserved. It seems to spend most of its time at court assisting Lord de Bèthune, debating with Ultionis, and talking animatedly to Britannia- or anyone else it can get its hands on. Common speculation thus far is that it was a university student of some description, and this seems echoed by Its' memories.

It appears to have no desire to play the political game, having palmed the position of Nosferatu Priscus off on Sundown in September with a whoop of joy. However, it always seems willing to discuss anything- pop culture, science, the arts, philosophy, music, Its' studies with the Ordo Dracul- with anyone who will sit down long enough to talk with It. The only thing that reliably brings It to anger is casual mention of violence or murder- it has been known to shout at Kindred "WHAT MAKES IT ALRIGHT FOR YOU TO HURT PEOPLE?!"

In October, It is said to have received a gift from Clotho of the Fates. When asked about the gift, It smiled with wonder, and made vague reference to memory before changing the subject. Clive's taking by the Fates seemed to shake it, who took of It's mask in front of the entire court to face them. The offering of itself as a sacrifice to Atropos was turned down, but whether this has any significance is hard to tell, let alone what that significance might be.

In November, It was relatively quiet in court. It was seen speaking to several of the new arrivals, and flinching from a great predator through the night, and seemed to become more withdrawn as the night went on. However, it did tie in a Guitar Hero challenge against Donnie Rocket, much to it's delight.

It's quietness at court was starkly contrasted by the fuss it raised on the national communication forums about the disappearance of Lucinde during the months of October and November. Its unassuming nature conflicted with its obvious desire to find its mentor, and lead to several kindred of high standing nationally taking interest in Lucinde's vanishing act. Lucinde's return has lead It to become quiet once more- although the commotion it raised, especially amongst the Ordo Dracul, has not been forgotten.

In December, with the announcement of Aaron Wilmott's death, It had a very busy night, with two new Nosferatu in the city, and Sundown nowhere to be seen, as well as several messages that had to be delivered and introductions that had to be made. It barely seemed to have a moment to sit and speak to the new arrivals, let alone anyone else. In late December, it was asked to MC at Aaron and Walsingham's memorial service, where it's nervousness at standing in front of so many Kindred showed, but it pulled through the ceremony with barely a falter.

In January, it was absent from the Sydney court. When people asked the other Ordo Dracul, they were assured that It was alright, and was merely studying for the night. In it's absence, It was named the Ordo Dracul member of Prince Donnie's jury. It's reaction to this news has yet to be noted, however, It isn't expected to take it dreadfully well. A week or so later, it was seen in Melbourne for the Colour Ball, bustling around to try and sort out the strange visions and sensations that people were experiencing. Towards the end of the night, it was seen speaking to a visitor, Miss Glass, and smiling, as well as exchanging NERF fire with Michael Roberts of Adelaide. Could the tradition of Shootie-bang be spreading?

It arrived late to Le Vigneron's party in February, and spent the night bouncing around happily, talking to everyone that would stand still long enough. This sudden exuberance stopped when the human that The Khovros was possessing was cut down in front of the court. It spent a lot of time discussing the appropriateness of this with people before something that looked a lot like Tabitha Lancaster came to court, bringing with her what It calls 'a surge in the energy flows'. It stood in front of Tabitha while many others of the court attacked her, and was heard to say "The Prince says enough! He wants to talk to her, let her be!"

Quotes by It

"Oh yes. I have a name. I just don't remember what it is. I won't do myself the disservice of calling myself someone that I'm not."

"You're beautiful. Don't you dare say you know what I go through. Don't even think it for a moment."

"I beg you, forgive me if I overstep my place- I only want to learn, you see."

"I am malleable, yes, buy by my own hand and my own hand alone. You have no right to comment as to how shapeable I am."

Conversations in passing

"You should come to Movie Night! I promise I won't do anything stupid. Like, say, Dude, Where's My Car?"

"Please, it's just Dante, I don't deserve any titles."

"No, it doesn't sound particularly like you do." - A conversation with Dante of Melbourne, in which Dante managed to behave in a particularly odious fashion

Quotes about It

(OOC Please feel free to add these!)

  • "My student, and my ward. A fresh if somewhat childlike outlook, a tragicly tender heart and an intellect that should not be underestimated. You're certainly asking a lot of questions, why the interest? Your intentions had best be benevolent, yes? I don't think I should be pleased, otherwise."
  • "Sweet. Delightful. It is a rare find among our kind and one that should be treasured and protected." - Britannia
  • "Rarely do our kind rise above our indwelling nature. It is a reminder that you should be doing much, much better." - Ultionis
  • "She keeps to the shadows, hides her face and strong as a gorilla, could I find anyone more different than myself" - Jord*n of The Sanctified
  • "It shows courage in standing before its betters, even if such an action would lead to its detriment. Yet at that very same time, a severe lack of situational awareness by turning its back to a potent enemy." - Vizier Thu'baan Abdul-Rashid
  • "It. A creature with so little pride in her being she refuses to even take a name. Such opportunities are rare indeed." - Tarak

Lineage

While a part of the prolific line of House Skadi, It has no childer, and certainly seems to be opposed to the idea of ever siring anyone.

Rumours and Whispers

  • Bets, as always, run hot as to It's true gender. Current leanings are slightly towards female, but that seems to change with every new encounter with it.
  • It has begun 'educating' elder Vampires of the Sydney court about popular culture, subjecting them to movies, music, and comic books, of all things.
  • It has taken to skateboarding around Curzon Hall whenever it thinks that Ultionis isn't around
  • It openly loathes Rose Vitelion, after she called to it as if it were a dog after the death of Lady Frankie. The question is, will It be able to do anything about it?
  • Its superiors in the Ordo Dracul are looking to have serious words with It, after it offered itself up as a sacrifice to the Fates that visited during the October gathering.
    • They aren't the only ones. Several in Sydney aren't happy with Its willingness to put itself in danger
  • It is secretly a member of It's sire's bloodline, who is whispered to be a Nocktuku
    • That can't be right! It's too humane to ever be a Nocktuku
  • That It doesn't like its family isn't any secret. The question is, why?
  • It speaks occasionally of The Grey-Eyed Man. Who is he, and why is he so important?
  • It is generally an amiable creature, but many of the court have noticed Its eyes narrow in distaste at conventionally 'pretty' Kindred. Is it any wonder? Which leaves people asking, is It ever going to voice this disgust?
  • Why on earth is It so protective of Lucinde? Surely, the older Kindred is more than capable of looking after herself, and doesn't need a snot-nosed fledgeling trailing after her?
  • So many blood slaves in the Ordo. Maybe that's why Anthus was protecting Lucas? A known diablerist.
  • It may have seen a little more than it bargained for at a recent Sydney gathering.
    • Are you kidding? That was EXACTLY what It wanted to see, nudge nudge, wink wink
  • People have noted that It was, in fact, the only member of Sydney's Ordo Dracul to not have a position within the court. Doesn't every Vampire want more power, though? Why wouldn't It want the prestige of a position?
  • It is working on a paper based on what It discovered in Melbourne. Several Kindred are awaiting it with bated breath (metaphorically speaking), for varying reasons
  • What did It and Miss Glass speak about as they crouched together, and why was It smiling so much after they went their separate ways?
  • It was seen speaking with the Prince at the February gather after the banishment of The Khovros. The Prince seemed highly overwrought afterwards- what on earth could It have said to him?
  • It has been appointed the Prince's 'play-buddy', often having him around for skateboarding, Guitar Hero, and throwing popcorn at other members of the City.

I, who have known you for so long, I see the pain in your eyes!'
