Appearance
Mason stands tall, around 6’5” and even when standing next to many of the other ogres who can only be described as giant he is not physically as tall, but is presence makes up of it.
Among the changeling of the freehold, it is his presence that seems to effect the Hedge the most when those of freehold travel together, but then again Rubens hasn’t been seen much since the end of Autumn.

Known Timeline:
- 1990 – Mason emerged from the Hedge, but did was not found by the freehold of Canberra for several months, when he was eventually found he swears allegiance to the Summer Court

- 1997 - Was volunteering at the Thredbo Landslide when he encountered a freshly emerged Shiva, since then he has kept a eye on her from a distance, usually checking in on her at least once a year. This wasn’t always easy while Sydney was having their internal war
- 2003 – Mason fought in the Canberra Bushfires with the volunteer fire brigade. After the bushfires had passed he did apparently argued with the Summer King and refused to swear another decade of service to him
- 2005 – Mason participated in the doomed assault on Bloodybones, only Firebrand Billy-Bob and himself survived
- 2008 - Took the Crown of the Summer King from Nic
Background:
Mason has never said what happened before he arrived at the freehold, but as far as anyone can tell he wandered around for nearly half a year before finding another Lost. He had no one to guide him through those first few months and it was a surprise that he was able to maintain any sort of level of clarity. What is know is that he used to be a cop, but he wasn't by the time he set foot in the Summer Hall, sometimes he’s replied to prolonged discussion “Too many bridges burnt” As for his durance, suggestions that he was gone a long time is met with a laugh, so it’s a good bet he wasn't gone that long. Well at least by mortal standards who knows how long he spent in Arcadia
Once Mason joined the Summer court he quickly showed talent in combat, something we assume was learnt in Arcadia since he seemed to surprise himself when his body moved fending off furious attacks by some of the most skilled combatants. And soon he was sworn in as knight of the Summer Court. He maintained the arena that stood before the doors into the Pit and has been known to train relentlessly to achieve a level of skill rarely seen... anywhere

Taking the Crown
Something must have happened over Summer, maybe it was the way that Firebrand, well meaning as he was, made what Mason considered a mockery of the Summer Games, but he was absent the night that Summer ended this time. Probably the first time in 18 years, maybe him being there would have made things different, but maybe mean shit all in the grand scheme of things. The Beast was paid his due and Firebrand had left the city leaving Summer in some disarray. D’Artangnon had claimed the crown but had now abdicated, Nic now wore it. But soon enough he was absent from gatherings, so Mason looked around, and realised it was no use fighting destiny and he took the crown himself.
Fighting the Devil
Billy-Bob, Ben and Mason they knew where something big stalked the hedge and had reason to suspect it was a dragon. The trio found a dragon and killed it with little effort, but it was about then that they realised that this was not the ‘big thing’ that was around here. They could feel the ground shake and smell brimstone in the air, now a lesser person would have run. But these three where mighty and together probably close to unstoppable by anything less than one of the True Fae so they moved towards where the sounds where coming from, when the figure mounted on a horse of fire and smoke charged from further in the hedge. As the figure grew closer they could tell that it wasn’t in the shade, it was the shade and all three leapt into battle.
Realising how utterly overwhelmed it was by these three the Devil tried to escaped but it was goaded into a duel.
The three entered discussion and ended up through Paper Rock Scissors in order to be the first one to fight, Ben won. So Ben fought the Devil and ripped its shadowy frame apart with vicious claws at the last the Devil lunged and sunk its dirty fangs into Bens neck mere moments before Ben plunged hid gore covered talon into the shadow devils chest and crushed its heart.
At that moment he became of Summer
The Death of Ben
After Ben killed the Devil he seemed to be suffering the effect of some sort of psychotropic drug, it must have been what the Devil had pumped into his veins, but Mason had further work to do and made perhaps one of the biggest mistakes he made since the one that ended with him in Arcadia
The Slaying of Bloodybones
Mason lead the freehold in an all out assault from which we where able to destroy the Gentry known as Bloody Bones. But the freehold soon finds out that someone has changed the keys to the freehold denying entry to all. After the banishment of Jack, Mason returned to still find the freehold sealed tight. He has had to weigh the options between the Asylum full of fetches against the actions required to destroy the grip the Fae have on Canberra.
Breaking In
With the Freehold locked tight, and the days ticking down to the change-over of seasons the Changelings of Canberra. A giant hedge cutting device was built to penetrate the defences of the freehold. After three hours of the gruelling cutting and slashing the machine finally packed it in, requiring the axes to come out. The Somnus hives and then a party of Reavers attack. Finally there is there is a glade of tranquillity.
The Final Hours
The night before the sacrifice Mason couldn't sleep, he can never really sleep the night before. When Neve had a dream that The Beast would be ending it all at dawn, there had to be action taken straight away. It was then that Rutherford and his cronies that had decided to attack the Lonely Princess using the children of the Winter Court as human shields. Mason picked up Neve, Danny and Wroke on Hunglikea and flew up to the top window in the tower crashing through the glass. The Lonely Princess was almost defeated, when it was able to render everyone asleep when it escaped.
From there the Crystal Mask was drawn to to ambush location in the quarry, where the final chapter was to happen and Wroke sacrificed himself to ensure the Gentry was in the correct place when then trap was sprung
